This huge project encompasses all 13 of Liszt’s symphonic poems, 12 transcribed by Liszt’s pupil August Stradal. A “pianistic Mount Everest”, these extremely demanding transcriptions shed a very special and new kind of light into Liszt’s original works. The last volume includes Risto-Matti Marin’s own transcription of the 13th symphonic poem, Von der Wiege bis zum Grabe, as well as six transcriptions of Liszt’s songs by Stradal. First recordings!
