Gateways (2016, ABCD 398)

Cornerstones of the basic piano repertoire. The lone octave G beginning Schubert’s first impromptu inspired a thought of a “gateway” that leads into the inner world of the composer. After the whole opus 90, G octaves begin also another great work, Liszt’s sonata in B Minor. The disc begins with Bach–Liszt organ fantasy – also with a G Minor chord. This disc is dedicated to the memory of Jouni Marin (1932–2015).
