The basis of this disc is Marin’s solo recital in Johanneksenkirkko Church in Helsinki. All the works are narrative in character, some of them more straightforwardly than others. In the core of this disc are the two Shakespeare-themed works: Liszt–Stradal’s Hamlet and Beethoven’s Tempest sonata. Along with these and the classics by Mendelssohn and Chopin, the disc includes the first recording of Juho Miettinen’s fantastically eerie horror piece “Shadow Over Innsmouth”, based on a short story by H. P. Lovecraft.
